High Ability Programme in Singapore

Guru Kids Pro helps strong primary learners develop reasoning, language and problem-solving skills for unfamiliar and more demanding questions.

Lessons combine advanced English, Mathematics and logic through guided practice, discussion and carefully selected challenges.

Going Beyond the Curriculum

Students learn how to approach questions they have not seen before.

Instead of relying only on memorised methods, students learn to recognise patterns, compare possibilities, make inferences and explain why an answer works.

The aim is to build stronger judgement, flexibility and independence across academic and reasoning tasks.

Logical Reasoning

Patterns, Rules and Relationships

Students identify hidden rules, organise information and use evidence to reach well-supported conclusions.

Language Ability

Comprehension and Verbal Reasoning

Lessons develop precise vocabulary, deeper inference and the ability to interpret and communicate ideas clearly.

Mathematical Thinking

Non-Routine Problem Solving

Students explore visual, spatial and multi-step problems that require more than applying a familiar formula.

Core Skills

Pattern recognition
Logical deduction
Advanced comprehension
Verbal reasoning
Flexible problem-solving
Clear explanation of ideas

Sample Questions

Try two of the challenges our students may encounter.

These examples require careful observation, deduction and the ability to test different possibilities.

01

Visual Reasoning

Matchstick Challenge

Move three matches to new positions to form exactly four squares. No matches may overlap or be left as loose ends.

02

Logical Deduction

Digit Placement Puzzle

Place the digits 1 to 9 in the 3 × 3 grid, using each digit once.

A star means that one of the listed digits must be placed in that square. A cross means that none of the listed digits can be placed in that square.

How Lessons Work

Observe, test, explain and improve.

Teachers guide students to slow down, identify useful information, consider different strategies and justify their conclusions.

Mistakes are reviewed as part of the learning process, helping students refine both their method and explanation.
